(Most likely this topic will die, as all my topics do xD)

"Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London, England."
-Quote from Wikipedia.

Anyway, Dubstep is an awesome music genre that I used to listen to A LOT 😸 Artists like Skrillex, Bassnectar, Flux Pavilion and 16bit are some well-known artists. (Skrillex is usually most known.) There are some unofficial Dubstep YouTube artists too.

I was wondering if anyone else has heard of or listened to any Dubstep music, and what people's opinions are of it.

If you're looking to try listening to Dubstep, you can find Dubstep remixes (which are remixes of either other Dubstep songs, or normal songs) or actual Dubstep songs on YouTube.

So, let the posting begin xD

@karamel

I /sorta/ like dubstep. It's okay, but it's sometimes boring and repetitive. I much prefer trip-hop/dubstep hybrid music. I'll listen to it occasionally.

I'm more of a classical connoisseur however. That, and Jazz. Jazz is my favorite genre. But, not modern jazz, old big-band type jazz.

@darthvader Thanks for your opinion 😊 Yeah, I have a wide range of musical interests >.<

I usually like music with no lyrics in (thus the word music, not song 😋), which is why I prefer Dubstep (sometimes classic xD).

I like dubstep, mostly Skrillex, but my favorite genre is Rock/Metal. C:

@karamel I agree! Lyric-less music is lovely. It lets you focus on the music, instead of the words, and it's much more relaxing, even despite a fast or slow tempo.

@akira Good to see you like Skrillex 😸 Have to admit, I love rock too, but I hate screamo >.<

@darthvader I've always thought that there's a reason why music and songs are different. Songs have some music in it, but they're more like poems, not actual music.

Not to say songs AREN'T anything to do with music.

I like dubstep. I listened to a few remixes of music from other genders and i really liked it. Although i never listened to any real songs that are originally dubstep ☚ī¸

@onyx Pretty sure you meant genres and not genders (male + female) xD I like remixes, but not as much as the pure music ><

@onyx I used to do that too until I found out there were actual Dubstep songs and not just remixes xD

I find female Dubstep remixes aren't that good (simply because they don't "fit" with the actual genre)...

@karamel

I do kind of agree on the female thing.

Would you suggest some 'real' dubstep songs?

Songs by Skrillex are good...

Bangarang - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJVmu6yttiw (has some repetitiveness xD)

Timestretch - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M-jOZRe0-8

@solaris *Usually* if you like techno + house you'll like dubstep 😊 Not saying that it applies to everyone, obviously xD I think Dubstep can sometimes be mistaken for either of those genres (and vice versa) :/

@kaplooosh Dubstep has a wide variety - you can even have dubstep remixes of classical music 😋

@lonewolf I think my sister listened to that before... 😋 It's a small internet world xD

i make i type of dubstep i made called 1337Step. its fast dubstep that usees beeps and RARELY the dubstep wubs. made a epic 1337Step drop called "Epic face!". its a approx. 1 min-2 sec. drop with LOTS of distortion. i used to be Ephant but now im "1337Step".
