Is Egg Cave being really slow? Or is it just me? >_>

Since the recent update of the beta profiles, EC has been taking forever to lead! (And it's not my internet, every other site is loading just fine).

I logged on a 12:00 ECT. It took me til 12:41 just to get to the page to make a new topic.

Is it just me, or is everybody else experiencing this too?

@whispers Everything is fine for me here. :I You sure you don't have any other pages/programs open that could slow down your computer? And what browser are you using?

I have nothing else open on my computers (yes, this has been happening on more than one) besides Egg Cave.

And I'm using Google Chrome.

I'm on Google Chrome too, and my computer is like 3 years old. Eggcave is extremely fast for me. 😋

Perhaps you should clear out your cache and there's a program called Cleanup it works really well and is free. You can Google that one. Also your comp usually runs more programs then you're aware of using another one to use is Smart Close when you use it, just click on the items that you're not using you save a snapshot of that and then it closes all that's not in use. Another good thing to do with your comp is defragmentation which frees up space on your computer click on Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, and Rearrange Items on your hard disk to make program runs faster, then click on defragment . You'll have to wait a while for it to do it's thing, but when it's completely done your computer should run faster as space is freed up on your hard drive.

@whispers oh me too . I thought it was just me,cause where I live net has a lot of problems,but eggcave has been really slow and I'm havin problem leaving comments and feedin my crits.it doesn't show all the crits in my cove and takes so much time to load ...

Hmm, I don't seem to have that much of a problem, but it may be a bug because a lot of others have it.

Mrrp. 😋 I'm using Google Chrome and my computer's like, 5 years old.. and it's loading pretty well for me. Probably because I just restarted it.. I was having a really slow day before that. I don't think it's a bug, since not everyone is having this problem.

Mine isn't as slow as yours, but it does take a while for my creatures to load in my cove. Usually it takes a few seconds but now it takes about 5 minutes.

I live in two places and my cove is slow in both. :I

I think it may be because the server is just adjusting to the new profile layouts - they contain more bytes than the earlier versions, so it takes a little longer to load.

Either that or there's just loads of site traffic.

@Ian How do I take the speed test? Whenever I hit "Start Test" for the speed it says something about taking a PC scan to look for viruses, and if I hit no thanks to that, it won't give me results for the speed test. :/

As of right now, there are no known network connectivity issues at Egg Cave. The kinds of problems you're having sound a lot like networking configuration issues on your end.

Try resetting your Internet at your home (turning off your Internet router, and then turn it back on after 30 seconds), or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) if you cannot diagnose the problem yourself.
