Support button

in Site Feedback & Ideas

Deleted • 10 May 2013 at 9:58 AM

So for the suggestions and ideas, what if there was a little clickable do-hickey that said "click to support this suggestion/idea" or something beside it, and if you clicked it the topic would gain one support!

Now the mods would have the ability to see how many people have clicked that button, then if the amount of support if considerable and the mods like it, Then Ian might have it made!

I am open to constructive cristisism but nothing just plain rude.

@dramatic I support this. 😸

On xenforo they have Like buttons, as well as customisable buttons (like "Cool" and "Awesome" and "Support" etc), so I'm pretty sure this could be implemented to our own forums.

@dramatic

Support: +1!

This is a wonderful idea. It would make it easier to see how many people like a certain suggestion!

Deleted • 11 May 2013 at 2:38 PM

@blueclaw Yes because then the mods wouldn't have to count through multiple pages if they do XD ping some people?

Thanks!

@dramatic
I almost suggested this recently.
Lol.
It would certainly make things easier.

A slight suggestion: Maybe after a certain amount of supports per suggestion, number up to staff, it would be reviewed by the Staff and considered. So rather than them having to review every suggestion frequently, they could wait for it to hit a certain number of supporters then it gets considered.

@dramatic Support 😋

This would make it much easier, one of those things that cut the time it takes down by a few seconds but it's just so awesome and easy it feels like magic!

@dramatic It's a good idea! ^^

+1 XD

@ems thanks! @jammy thanks!

@shelby lol! What certain number do you think it would have to hit? I'm thinking somewhere from 50- 150.

@dramatic
Hmm.
I wish we could see how many active members there are, that would make this an easier task to give a rough number.
I think *at least* 100 sounds good, but if there are a lot of active players, maybe even closer to 200?

@dramatic Would the support button be a like button for each post?

Deleted • 13 May 2013 at 9:53 PM

@gabrieltaft it would be like maybe beside the subscribe button at the top of each topic, but only for suggestions and ideas ^^

@leaf_light Th\nks!

@Shelby yeah XD

@adopt thanks! Yeah I needed too and thought it would be convienent. or however you spell it.

@dramatic

I like the idea but there's always a chance that people will use sides to vote and the owner could make a bunch of fake accounts and support their own topic.

Deleted • 13 May 2013 at 10:00 PM

@hedwig68 right. Well hang on I have an idea...

Maybe when you make a side you would have to post something in your profile, like to connect you eggcave account to your eggcavern one. and then they know it's your side and it would be disabled from side accounts. and you woukdn't be able to support you own topic, from main or sides.

@dramatic

Yeah, that could be a good idea. OR it could be set up so that and IP address can only vote once for that topic. I know that'd suck for people with siblings but it'd help.

Deleted • 13 May 2013 at 10:04 PM

@hedwig68 I have a sibling but my brother quit eggcave and uses a diff comp XD But yeah that would work way better and would be WAY easier!

@dramatic I like this idea, but I do worry that it could easily be abused my people making multiple accounts just to get their idea more support.

Edit: Ah, I see this has already been mentioned. Sorry...didn't read all of the posts!

@musicgurl333 Having a few people recognize the same thing is good ^^ Thannks for your support.

@hedwig68 I wasn't thinking, I didn't even realize that problem until you posted about it. XD
