We just performed and we did really well! Awards are at 4:30 so we'll find out what place we get then.

@purpledragon275 How did you go? What position are you in the band?
purpledragon275 • 4 October 2016 at 9:39 PM
@mastergemmaWe got 13th place! That may not seem very high but considering how tough the competition was it was really pretty good (top 12 made it to finals-so close!) Also I play the alto saxophone.

@purpledragon275 Congratulations and that really was close!I don't know too much about music, what's the difference between a normal saxophone and the alto saxophone?Or as Homer Simpson would say it... the Saxamaphone.

Congratulations!Marching band sounds SO fun, I do swim team competitions and they are not the best thing in the world unless you get that big shiny medal (open your hand they're as big as that)Jumping into a freezing, salty pool at 7:00 am and swimming laps, then getting out, and racing yourself half to death against insanely fast people like my best friend xD

@mastergemma Thank you!The alto pretty much is the "normal" saxophone. It's according to size, from biggest to smallest: bari, tenor, alto, soprano. Soprano's aren't very common though. We have one bari, 4 tenors, and 12 altos.@icesparkle22 Thanks! It is a lot of fun, but a lot of work as well. We're performing at Mizzou next Saturday. I love to swim as well, but not competitively, just more of a 'It's a million degrees outside so I'm jumping in the pool.' xD

@purpledragon275 Do you perform often and are there competitions often? Where I live you don't hear a lot about marching bands except when there are parades. I remember seeing a parade many years ago that contained a marching band, it was very cool seeing it!

@mastergemma We do! We just had our last game yesterday and we have 3 more competitions before the season's over. We practice ALOT-3 hours a day Monday thru Friday. We also march in a parade for our homecoming week. It's a lot of work but it's worth it.
