Inactive Topics

I see a lot of closed forums with "please do not bump older, inactive topics".

Just wondering 😋 , what classifies as an "old topic" and "inactive topic"?

I think it also might depend on what sort of topic it is and how many posts there are. I've seen some topics in Forum Games with thousands of posts go a month or so with no one posting only to have someone post later with no negative consequences. I've also seen forums with about twenty posts go inactive for a week or two to have the next poster reminded not to bump topics. I guess that having enough posts gives topics some sort of tenure under certain conditions.
