Heya! This is my first ever suggestion; the idea just popped in my head, so I spent the latter part of today working on the idea! Anyways, the image:https://s16.postimg.org/l0c5yv8sl/Oedipus.jpgAbout the egg:A large, bulbous seed is embedded in the face of this egg. It seems to be pulsing gently, like a heartbeat that is in time to the fetus within. The egg itself is striped and very delicate, so fragile that it could fall apart if you held it wrong.About the Oedipus: The life of an Oedipus is a sad one. Once it is born, it has been predestined to die upon reaching adulthood, deprived of nutrients and weakened with thirst. "Why," you ask? Well, every Oedipus is born with a seed upon its body, the seed that will inevitably end its life. As the fawn grows, the seed will grow too, sending its roots deep into the bloodstream of its prey. This parasitic seed steals nutrients from its host to grow, eventually weakening it to the point of death. While its host suffers, the seed thrives, growing into a healthy bud that blossoms into a luxurious blue flower.The owner of an Oedipus must keep his pet happy for the duration of its lifespan, which is about 2 years. An Oedipus never reaches adulthood, destined to die young and pure. After its death, its body is marked by the bright blue flower that feeds upon it, beauty in the face of death.#creaturesuggestionPings (sorry to bother) :>@degong@stagfire@ifi123@flowerlynx(Bonus points if you understand how I got the name đ)Things to add (suggested)-Injured foot-Last stage (flower only)

shale • 14 March 2017 at 9:20 PM
@silkenoid I like it! Think it would be a great spring creature đAlso like the dark twist to it, makes it unique!
silkenoid • 14 March 2017 at 9:22 PM
@stagfire Thanks friendo! (yep, you're close ^^)@shale Thank you! I was thinking it'd be a spring creature too.
stagfire • 14 March 2017 at 9:23 PM

@silkenoid *Insert thinking face* Okay (had to look at my essay lol XD) He was a greek king and fulfilled a prophecy on accident, bring forth disaster to his 'kingdom'. Tragic hero story c>

@silkenoid OH i like it! The bright flower with the dark twist is perfect!
silkenoid • 14 March 2017 at 9:36 PM
@chicachicken Ah thank you very much :>@stagfire Ding ding! The idea was that his future was already predetermined by destiny, which is how I derived the name đ

@silkenoid your welcome â¤ī¸
stagfire • 14 March 2017 at 9:38 PM
@silkenoid Awesome! Smart, hidden meaning, bumbumbum!
flowerlynx • 14 March 2017 at 9:39 PM
@silkenoid Wow, gorgeous drawing! I might add a little more on the egg description, myself. Other than that, the description of the creature itself is very good, as well as detailed.
silkenoid • 14 March 2017 at 9:39 PM
@rashka @teddy267 Thank you very much c:@stagfire Also it was because I had no idea what else to name it lol
armageddondoll • 14 March 2017 at 9:40 PM
@silkenoid Beautiful artwork on the creature, and the description is beautifully tragic. I noticed that the end stage flower looks a lot like a lotus, and I was curious if that was intentionally done to symbolize the lotus eaters of Greek mythology (given the name you gave the creature). If so it's a stunning use of symbolism!
stagfire • 14 March 2017 at 9:40 PM
@silkenoid XD True, true true, lol
silkenoid • 14 March 2017 at 9:42 PM
@flowerlynx Thank you for the feedback! Will do đ@armageddondoll Ah, that was completely unintentional, but let's just pretend that I did it on purpose đ Thank you very much!
crunchyoreo25 • 14 March 2017 at 10:10 PM
@silkenoid Oedpius Rex! I think it's great ^^
icesparkle22 • 14 March 2017 at 10:22 PM
@silkenoid Oedipus! I know the whole story! He was the guy who solved the Sphinx riddle and something about an oracle and blah blah đalso, this story is a little too much âšī¸ DO NOT LET THAT CUTE DEER DIE I REFUSE TO LET IT DIE! D:<
silkenoid • 14 March 2017 at 10:35 PM
@crunchyoreo25 That's correct! And thank you ^^@icesparkle22 Yep yep, that's right! The idea is that Oedipus had a destiny that was predetermined from birth, like this little creature is destined to die. Aahh I'm sorry, I don't want it to die either; if I had one, I'd probably freeze it haha
skyfall4 • 14 March 2017 at 11:06 PM
@silkenoid O_O it's beautiful â¤ī¸

@silkenoidBeautiful~ Brings me to tears~ ;-; The description somehow just evokes something within me and the image just ties that feeling in. How did you ever draw such emotion? The image is just beautiful, and the description - I have no words~ â¤ī¸
silkenoid • 14 March 2017 at 11:15 PM
@degong Ahh I'm so flattered that you think so :') Thank you!
dusskfall • 14 March 2017 at 11:15 PM
It looks so sad in the last stage. I kind of want a fourth stage that is just the flower
silkenoid • 14 March 2017 at 11:20 PM
@dusskfall That's an idea worth considering :> Thanks for the feedback!
icesparkle22 • 14 March 2017 at 11:40 PM
@silkenoid haha instead of the ending, i have a happier idea đ¸so when the flower blooms, it's a flower of misfortune, bringing curses and bad luck to the owner. this causes them to be commonly abandoned in the wild, or they left to starve. however, when betrayed by their owners, Oedipi fly into an unstoppable rage that can bring drought, famine, and even pestilence to the town. Due to this unfortunate cause, Oedipi are very rare as pets and are commonly avoided throughout Ark.maybe...? i just don't think its right to have a creature die x__x
lykhaos117 • 15 March 2017 at 12:59 AM
@silkenoidOh my gosh, I love this so much!!! â¤ī¸ Your art and description are fantastic! And there's so much feeling in the last stage... ;_;Aside from @dusskfall's suggestion to add a flower as the last stage, my only other recommendation would be to make the creature have a swollen foot since Oedipus had a swollen foot, and that's what his name translates to. Sorry, I'm a bit of a Greek mythology nerd... >_<Mind if I ask what art program you use?
ifi123 • 15 March 2017 at 10:55 AM
@silkenoid I love the creature drawing! It's so pretty â¤ī¸ And the description is so tragic đą So, is the idea behind the last stage a sort of "Sleeping Beauty"/asleep for eternity type of thing?
