Completely covering the delicate membrane of Danaus eggs are miniscule scales that resemble a fine powder when rubbed upon. These scales naturally fall off as Danaus eggs become closer to hatching.
Danaus are gentle, quiet creatures who travel the entire region of Ark in search of warmth and protection. Each stage of their life is significant and plays an essential part in the continual survival of their species. These creatures are also born with an innate sense of loyalty, trust, and unconditional love for those that care for them. Danaus have bodies like that of a young tiger cub, but this changes in both color and shape as they mature.
Whilst functional, the captivating butterfly-like wings of Danaus can only support shorts spurts of flight at a time before resting becomes a necessity. Fascinatingly, the average non-stop flight time of Danaus will increase as they enter their migration season, quickly escaping the cold temperatures by moving up to the northern regions of Ark.
The longest recorded non-stop flight of a single Danaus (a female specimen affectionately nicknamed Monarch by the Science and Research Center staff) is currently held at a staggering three and a half days.
