An odd liquid mixes about in the Polter egg and scientists are unsure of what comprises this strange specimen. Sometimes it beeps and other times it just rattles around. One thing for sure is that any technological equipment must be kept away from the Polter egg. Scientists have no definitive answer as to what causes it but the egg seems to lead computers and gadgets to malfunction within seconds, making it all the more difficult to research.
Most Polters start off no more than a little goop of ectoplasm. Instead of causing technology around it to malfunction, a hatched Polter can control them. Technology seems to be attracted to it as it draws remotes, phones, and batteries right into its translucent body. Although possessing tremendous psychic abilities, Polters are generally harmless tricksters that much rather munch on electrical bits than do something sinister. They are fun-loving creatures that don't mind a trick or two, but not as much as they love treats.
Nobody knows as to why, but Polters generally only show themselves when the Halloween Fair arrives in Ark.
