Merry Christmas!!

Happy holidays to one and all!
My how fast the year has passed.
Soon Santa will be passing through,
Hopefully the snow will last!

Each evening a new window shines with
Festive lights of a newly decorated tree.
I imagine all the gifts of presents each
Child anticipates with jubilee.

Entrance ways look stunning adorned with
Wreaths of holly, accented with red poinsettias.
Tiny reindeer grace rooftops; a snowman keeps watch
Over the carolers who are merrily singing operettas.

Sidewalks are busy with shoppers who are eagerly
In search of just one more Christmas sales event.
Not worried at all about the coming New Year,
When they realize all the money they’ve spent!

Towns are alive with cheerfulness.
Folks are all too happy to greet neighbors.
Probably due to the anxiousness of starting
Season vacations away from daily labors.

Isn’t it amazing how some people go all out?
Miles of lights strewn everywhere to impress
The public like some publicity ploy to be the best.
Tis okay with me! It’s quite beautiful, I confess.

Finally when it’s Christmas day the winter air
Permeates with the smells of oven roasted turkey,
Hams baked with pineapple rings, cranberries,
Cinnamon sticks that make us all feel perky!

Sounds of children’s laughter as they shred
Yards of wrapping paper at record speed.
Doggies ‘n kitties playing with ribbons ‘n bows,
In search of delicious treats ‘til they succeed!

How I miss those days of my youth,
When our home fires burned with felicity!
Do indulge in creating fond new memories.
And please, accept individual eccentricities.

Merry Christmas!

About Battyrus Eggs

This creature is endangered.

The colors of this egg shimmers like gold.

About the Battyrus Creature

Battyrus (pronounced bah-TY-rus) are a unique species of bat. They can only function when it is light out. If there is no light, Battyrus have to hibernate immediately. Otherwise, they'll die. It's as if they draw their source of energy from the sun. Battyrus enjoy being alone and hunting large amounts of insects in the jungles of Ark.
