Reborne the Ott

Named for Renee, one of my favorite characters- Her story is perfect for the Ott, and for whatever reason we decided she would be an otter should she ever be an animal, over a year ago. Therefore, the Ott is the epitome of Renee. Ironically, she was just made as a nondescript side character, but she's become the main plot now, thanks to her arc, this story:


Renee, no matter how hard she tried, was a girl left without anyone in the end. Her father mysteriously fell ill every life she lived, and every lifetime she inherited his big tortoiseshell glasses, worn round lenses too large for her face, but the sentiment still there. Her mother would always marry some wealthy man, passing Renee off to some distant and detached relative. Such was her fate, as her soul codes predicted her tale.

Renee loved to sit in her garden, resting among the lavender, dreaming of the life she could have. Friends, family, maybe even find love. She simply had a dream to be loved.

With little variation, this continues on, life after life. With no purpose, and no love, Renee seemed to be the broken puzzle piece in the universe, merely an observer. One life, she held onto her belief...

Praying day after day, her whole entire lifetime, she begged for a friend. For someone. Whether she knew of her past lives or not was unknown; what she did know was that she had to stop it. Unfortunately, she was cursed with terrible timing.

Renee had been praying, but unbeknownst to her, the true God had been fought off - not killed- and was replaced with a sadistic and cruel person who had stolen the throne. He would grant her wish.

A boy named Geoffrey was born into the world, confused. His family was too caught up in their own romantic affairs to care much about him, and his father was too ignorant to notice how unsettling Geoffrey's babysitter was around him. Geoffrey grew up in constant fear, vying for someone to care, for someone to rescue him. Running out, he managed to just escape his babysitter's grasp, going as fast as his little legs could carry him.

And he smelled the scent of lavender floating on the air, and like a moth to a flame, he followed the scent. And for the first time, he met moon eyes. Renee.

Renee vowed to save him from his predator, and so she did. She would always take Geoffrey under her wing, and be his friend all through elementary to middle school. She was his caretaker, and he was hers. But unfortunately, his soul code was a ticking time bomb.

Finally getting Renee to love him, Geoffrey was just elated. They are perfectly fitting puzzle pieces, so content. He smiled at the happy life they had. But he couldn't help it... His soul code demanded he hit her. It demanded he hurt her. No matter how hard he tries, fights...He can't hold it off forever.

Every lifetime, he will track her down. And she will see the light in his heart, and they will both be in the most love two could be. Renee had always loved the romantic idea of royals, and she and he were the perfect princess and prince. He spoiled her to no end, and would do anything to protect her... that is, until he would have to destroy her himself. But alone, he could not live. Then he would be in her shoes... Purposeless once more.

And so restarts the cycle.

Maybe one day, he'll be able to destroy the soul code, alter his fate. But as of now...

He will find Renee.
