Xitlalli the Calla

Finally, she has hatched. It look a while. She has seen her covemates come and go and die. Somehow, by a small miracle, she is one of the creatures that survived it all. She doesn't have to go through that again. She's surrounded by friends, people she loves and loves her back. She'll never get hungry, and will only see her family grow. She is my little star.

She's up and running now, no longer confined by her shell. I've changed her name to Xitlalli, but I would like to just remember the past. Think of Xitlalli as a time capsule of sorts. A tiny peek in the past. We were all so young, weren't we? Doesn't she look beautiful now?

By a farmhouse in a lush meadow, a Calla quietly grazes in the verdant blades. Her wings are tucked to her side as she trots around. She turns as she hears your steps on the grass.

"Hello. It's nice to meet you." Her voice is quiet and she regards you in a calm, albeit dazed way. "I'm here...I'm eating...Wanna join me?"

You hesitantly say yes but opt to lean on the fence, gazing at the mountains at the horizon, and sometimes at the Calla, who doesn't seem to notice that you aren't eating.
