Hi there! This is ❤️ Rhody ❤️

Name - 'Rhody' was the name of my first chicken ever, She was a Rhode Island Red, And I got her as a few day old chick on August 24th, 2009.
Rhody passed away May 4th, 2016. She was almost 7 years old. I love her so much, I've had her since she was a little baby, And I can remember every second of how I found my lovely sweet chicken...

How me & Rhody came to be...

Well, It all started on August 24th, 2009. And for the past week or so my dad had kept asking me if I wanted a chicken. And a year or so before that I had 4 Quail, but they had all passed over the couple of years that I had them unfortunately because they don't live long ;-; But anyway, He kept asking me about chickens and of course I said yes! I LOVE birds!!! So I obviously wanted a chicken! 😃 But about a week later, It was the day before I was supposed to start 4th grade, And I was in the tub about to get out and go to bed. So as I was getting out my mom told me that my dad had just came home & he wanted to show me something. So I dried off & went out there and asked him what he wanted to show me. And he told me that there was a box in his room that he wanted me to go get for him. So I went in his room & saw a box sitting on his bed. I very shortly afterwards heard a 'Cheep Cheep' sound coming from the box... Now I honestly didn't expect a baby bird to be in that box at all. So when I heard that I got the box and went down to where my parents both were in the living room, And I sat down on the floor and put the box in front of me & opened it! And what did I find? I found 2 little chickens!!! 😊 They were tiny babies, No more than a few days old. One of them was a yellow chick, And the other was a brown chick, the color of light (not dark) caramel, with a big dark brown stripe going all the way down it's back. They were a Cornish Rock & Rhode Island Red! And I named them Vienna & Caramel! And from the moment I saw them I loved them, And knew that I always would love them. 😸
I had Vienna a little over a year, She was a Cornish rock, which in case you didn't know are birds that are genetically modified to grow BIG, FAST. She was 13 pounds and she unfortunately died because of that. ;-;
Well, I still had Caramel at that time, And I had a few other chickens since then, But Caramel was my favorite. I always loved how nice she was, And her long, drawn out chicken sounds, And how pretty she was! 😊
So over the years our bond grew and I grew to love her even more than when I first met her, And I honestly don't remember when I started calling her Rhody instead of Caramel, But after a few years It just kinda changed from Caramel to Rhody. xD

But she was the leader of them all (chicken flocks always have a leader) and she ended up outliving all of her friends, And was the last one left...
I've ALWAYS have other chickens so she was never alone. But she outlived all of her friends from my original flock.
She also lived to be the oldest chicken I've ever had. Most I've had one live is to 4 years old, But Rhody lived to 6, almost 7 though! She was closer to 7 than 6. 😊

I miss her so much though, I buried her right next to my coop, So she can always be with my chickens & watch over them, And be the mama hen. ❤️
I also buried her right next to Feathers (who was her best friend when she was still alive, She passed 2 years before Rhody, almost to the day) and Buffers (who was also her friend but they weren't as close as her & Feathers. She passed a year before Rhody) At least they can all be together now. ❤️

Honestly though, It's so unfair that they don't get to live as long as us! Why can't they be like parrots and live for dozens of years?! I wish she could be with me still, But I can accept that she's gone, And that I got to be with her for much longer than most other people get to be with their chickens & I know that she had a good life & was loved, Not only by me but by all her other chicken friends too. So I'll accept that she's gone. I'm very sad about it but I can accept it.

But I am grateful for every second that I got to be with her! And although she may not be with me anymore, She'll always be in my heart & I think her spirit is still with me and all my other babies, to protect them forever. Thank you Rhody, You helped me a lot while growing up, And I loved going out there & Feeding you, And seeing you and holding & Petting you for all the years you were with me. Hopefully you can be with Feathers again, Because I know how much you 2 loved each other.
Thanks though Rhody, For always being with me & making me happy. I'll never forget you, Ever. ❤️
Rhody will always be in the stars, and forever in my heart ❤️

About Honk Eggs

This egg, by far, contains the most mysterious surprise.

About the Honk Creature

Honk are a unique kind of species in that they are the only type of duck which will NOT run away from a human. Honks, naturally, enjoying making their distinct "honk" noise; after several minutes of listening to a flock of Honk honking, it can get rather annoying. However, a Honk is a friend for life and enjoys flying across the beaches of Ark. If you ever need to deliver a message to a friend on the other side of the island, a Honk may be your best bet.
