It was chilly, as it usually is in those quiet Autumn months. The leaves rustled as the gentle November breeze danced with them. With every gust, their vibrant colors were plucked from the tree, and fell to me feet. I walked along the beaten path, surrounded by trees kissed by the coming of winter months.Suddenly, I no longer felt alone. Someone was with me, watching me.

The air filled with the scent of cinnamon and apples. The leaves swirled in a warm gust of wind, making a song all their own. And from behind the largest tree...came AutumnShine. So shy. So lonely...So much like myself. I knelt down and held out my hand, longing to hold my newfound friend. He was hesitant at first, cautious of me I think. But soon he was right before me, gazing at me with bright and kindred eyes.

It was on that day that I found my best friend. My dear AutmnShine. He's been my faithful friend ever since. Some days you can see us playing in piles of leaves. And some days you will only know we are there....Once you smell the cinnamon and apples.
