Theories Written into Stories
1. You've heard of loss of identity? Now, let's apply it to EC.
A while back, before Ark's Laws of Naming existed, people would name all of their Tines "Fluffy" or their Blobbarts "Squishy." But then, with the introduction of more and more creatures, these creatures lost more and more of their personality. After all, they were just one (1) Fluffy out of a million, right? These innocent creatures eventually lost sight of who they were and were driven to insanity by the lack of identity between themselves and others. Aeroria, the newly found mayor of Ark, was struggling to track down the rabid creatures and take them away. After months and months of hunting down broken creatures and carefully disposing of them, they decided that enough was enough. The new laws of naming were created so that no creature would ever feel the sorrows of not being a valid individual ever again... However, it was too late to go back, and many species were hurt and were labeled "Extinct in the Wild" due to the rampage. Don't make the same mistake out ancestors once did- the laws are here for a reason.
2. The Birth of Travels
The practice of trapping creatures into a person's cove has been an ancient practice that was handed down even before the sinking of Ark. However, there were consequences of holding a creature to your will. The first creatures that were put neatly into their little coves started becoming depressed at the miserable, cold surroundings. They paced in their rooms a lot, cried, and refused to eat. Realizing something was wrong, the Ark Government decided to introduce the use of Travels. Hologram surroundings inserted into a creature's room, to artificially force feelings of happiness onto the creature as they believe that their surroundings are different than they really are. Travels have become a lot more... healthy for the creatures using them these days, but do they really like what you give them? This is why Trinket Travels were born. The perfect travel for your creature, giving them everything they need- but only if used on the right one.

About Ringtail Eggs

The fur on top of the egg allows the Ringtail to regulate its temperature during incubation. Ringtail eggs require an environment below -20°C to hatch. If it becomes any warmer than this, Ringtail eggs die.

About the Ringtail Creature

Despite their friendly and approachable appearance, Ringtails are rather aggressive and territorial. Should you cross a boundary with a Ringtail, groups of them will start congregating and howling at whoever the offender might be. If an offender doesn't back down, Ringtails will attack together. In general it's best to stay away from them in the wild. Domesticated Ringtails are much more tame but are still a handful by most creature owners' standards.

Ringtails grow one more golden tail ring per evolution stage. The first golden ring is the same between the egg and child evolution stages.

A Ringtail's tail rings can sense vibrations in the ground, allowing the creature to detect predators and changes in the environment before they could become threats. Because of this Ringtails are quite evasive (unless challenged) in the wild.
