I agree. Spooky house in the middle of nowhere? That screams trouble to me too. It's like one of those cheesy horror movies where you yell at the people to run away from the scary house, and yet they decide to keep going and get eaten by man-eating ghost. ANYWAYS... Good thing your smart and knew better! Hey look! We reached the end of the forest. I recommend not going back ever again.

If you liked this journey, PM me and I'll write another. c:

About Skrute Eggs

This creature was available as a prize for participating in The Case of the Missing Kinump Seeds plot for the Halloween Bash of 2012.

The Science and Research Center recommends careful handling of these eggs. The tips of the red spikes are sharp and can cut an unwary finger. This keeps the egg safe from predators.

About the Skrute Creature

Skrutes are a common scavenger on Ark. They can be found living almost anywhere on Ark but, surprisingly, they are rarely seen. This is because during the day they sleep in nests hidden away in dark and hard to reach places. At night their dark coloring makes them difficult to spot and they keep to the shadows to avoid large predators. It is during the night that Skrutes prowl around looking for discarded scraps and attempting to get into trash cans. The spikes on their tails can cut through most forms of plastic necessitating the use of metal trash cans in most homes around Ark. While this saves many the trouble of having to buy new trash cans, if a Skrute is determined enough it can still find a way to knock the can over to get at what's inside. So far no one has made a "Skrute-proof" trash can.

Due to their infrequent sightings and somewhat skeletal features there are many old folk tales that tell of Skrutes being the bearers of bad luck. The tales tell of many ways to get rid of this bad luck, from simple solutions of throwing a pinch of salt over your left shoulder, to more elaborate solutions like breaking a mirror after seeing the Skrute and burying one of the shards under the light of the full moon. Of course the Science and Research Center says that there is no truth in these tales but many Ark citizens will still carry a bit of salt or other luck charm with them when they leave the house at night.
