POEM BY THE WONDERFUL @CHAOTICTREAT AS PART OF THE 2024 NEST FEST! ❤️

As you walk into the forest, you spy a piece of fruit
It looks green and seedy; you nudge it with your boot
It suddenly collapses, there was nothing inside
But as you round the corner, a keekee tries to hide

Slowly she emerges, feathery and rare
A bird with name of Latin, and memories so dear
She shuffles closer, trusting you, and lifts up her wing
Then flightless Actinidia opens her beak to sing 🎼

About Keekee Eggs

This egg was only available in Egg Cave's Cash Shop Park for June 2014.

Keekee eggs are often mistaken for tropical fruit. The egg does not actually have a shell; the egg is mostly made out of water and green pigment, and due to its semi-transparency, there appears to be seed-like objects in the center. These are actually the cells of the Keekee that lies within at extreme magnification due to the elements that make up the egg. The egg requires a subtropic climate to survive, and as it gets closer to hatching, the egg becomes softer and more moist. It is unknown as to why the water within the egg does not evaporate during the incubation process.

About the Keekee Creature

Keekee are classified as a bird specie due to their wings, however, because their wings are so small, they are incapable of flight. This makes Keekee easy prey to many of Ark's other predators, so most Keekee either live in captivity or within Ark City to avoid their hunters. Fortunately, they are very friendly and enjoy the presence of Arkians, so this is not necessarily out of the specie's interests. Keekee are very playful, and are thus particularly attracted to children. Due to their small numbers, it is forbidden among Arkians to kill any Keekee for any reason. It is considered to be good luck if a Keekee ever sings to you, so always keep a lookout for any that may be nearby!
