Teason eggs are ridiculously fragile. So much so, they cannot be physically handled without shattering into a thousand pieces. It is not until a Teason egg has wrapped itself up as a festive cocoon of sorts, complete with bow, that it can be safely moved around. A Teason egg reassembled from shattered pieces will not hatch.
Another inanimate-turned-sentient species, the Science and Research Center has chalked up their origins to being magic.
