About Mournwing Eggs

This egg was given out for Creature Release Week in January of 2026.

In the distance, you hear a faint whisper that says... "Memento Mori."

About the Mournwing Creature

The Victorian Era

The Mournwing is a quiet creature found near old estates and stone monuments in the Forest. It is often called a guardian of memory because it stays in places with a long history. While its skull-like face looks grim, it is actually a gentle species that prefers stillness over movement.

This creature undergoes a unique metamorphosis. It begins as a lace-wrapped egg and in its first stage it becomes an unmoving bust often mistaken for a garden statue. It then grows into a segmented, pearl-like larva like a caterpillar. Finally, it develops large wings made of a material that looks like translucent pink lace.

The Mournwing is a loyal companion that values routine. It does not require much attention but provides a sense of calm to its owner. In the wild, they are most active during moonlit nights when their wings are easiest to see.
