This egg feels cozy to hold, like a mug of something hot on a chilly night. A soft glow flickers under the shell every so often. It seems to brighten whenever someone nearby starts talking about dinner.
Hearthorns wander the countryside on cold evenings, looking for homes with warm windows and full tables. Little lanterns hang from their antlers, and the lanterns burn brighter as they get closer to a good meal. If you hear a gentle knock at the door around dinnertime, there's a good chance one is waiting outside.
Hearthorns are polite guests and won't eat too much. Mostly, they like to curl up near the fire and listen to everyone talk. When a Hearthorn leaves, its lanterns are said to light the way home for anyone still out in the dark.
