There has been an important update from the Science and Research Center! They think that they may be able to genetically reconstruct a Calla from the DNA found within the feather. But it comes with a hefty price tag... the Science and Research Center needs more funding! Care to help?
dionaea • 13 Nov 2009, 1:10 PM

dionaea • 13 Nov 2009, 1:45 PM

sparklefox • 13 Nov 2009, 2:00 PM
They need 500,000,000 more EC?!?!I right now donated 7k and now I only have 690 EC left!>.<

vixibelle • 13 Nov 2009, 2:17 PM
Donated 100,000 to the cause...again. Seems to me that the S&R Center needs some government funding or summat. π
kciw • 13 Nov 2009, 3:00 PM
are you KIDDING me!!!!!!! thats like feeding 5 MILLION EGGS!!!
smartie2742 • 13 Nov 2009, 3:38 PM
Well jeez guys.. think of it- Ian probably doesn't have the Calla ready cuz he didn't expect his EC goal to reach that high so fast. Thus,
smartie2742 • 13 Nov 2009, 3:39 PM
he is looking for another way to have more time to work on it without having us sitting around for a week or two waiting for news on it.
smartie2742 • 13 Nov 2009, 3:40 PM
And now I shall donate to the cause! π
lizardfeather • 13 Nov 2009, 4:07 PM
Oh yah. 500,000,000 to prove that the feather comes from a Calla WHICH THEY ALREADY KNOW! -_- *sigh* Wow.Obstacles. good delay. *laugh* π!
gamekatt101 • 13 Nov 2009, 4:11 PM
Yeah, Smartie is right. π Besides, this'll give all of us who hoarded our EC something to spend it on.
gamekatt101 • 13 Nov 2009, 4:14 PM
@ lizardfeather ...I think you're missing the point. That was the 1st part, this time, they're going to try, and bring it to LIFE.
hanako271 • 13 Nov 2009, 4:19 PM
Donated 80 k. I hope we can actually get them afterwards.
vixibelle • 13 Nov 2009, 4:27 PM
Donated another 250000 EC. There better not be another need for donations after this or Imma break into the S&R and make a Calla myself lol
icedapple • 13 Nov 2009, 4:33 PM
I bet after this there going to need 5billion to like clone the callas so we all can have one... its probaby going to take all week to get
icedapple • 13 Nov 2009, 4:34 PM
5oo million but at least this gives us a chance to spend all our ECs, the problem is that I spent all of mine last time! π±
brendan • 13 Nov 2009, 4:37 PM
Well since you average around 100 EC per feed we should only have to feed about 5,000,000 pets to get 500,000,000 EC.
cheesy_morgan • 13 Nov 2009, 4:48 PM
This obviously wasn't meant to be reached in a day, guys. This will take time and effort if you really want your Callas. π
brendan • 13 Nov 2009, 4:55 PM
and then probably more time they more than likely weren't ready yet and I'm sure Ian was shocked we reached 15 mil. in a few hours.
frescotux1o1 • 13 Nov 2009, 5:08 PM
wow. i'm so poor (especially with abondoning all those eggs) so i'll just donate 10,000.
lizardfeather • 13 Nov 2009, 5:09 PM
Oh... So Callas are extinct and they are cloning them... expensive... π going to feed lots of eggs π
frescotux1o1 • 13 Nov 2009, 5:13 PM
If i do get one, then i'll just hope that it's based on views because a lot of people don't come by and feed mine...
justbeingme • 13 Nov 2009, 5:26 PM
i have donated 200,000 EC and i donated 300,000 last time i dont think i have much left nowπ off to feed more eggs must have calla......π

mellyottl • 13 Nov 2009, 6:31 PM
XD How can they clone from a feather? It's dead.
galewinds • 13 Nov 2009, 6:35 PM
You cannot clone anything from a feather. There is no way anyone can do that. Then again this is cyberspace, and a fictional world.
smarties2218 • 13 Nov 2009, 6:35 PM
-whistles- Crazy. 5 mil. They are hoping for some time to create the actual image for the Calla. We impressed them with the amount of
EC we raised in a day.
icedapple • 13 Nov 2009, 6:36 PM
they get cells from the feather and reconstruct them into the whole creature, or something like that π
mellyottl • 13 Nov 2009, 6:46 PM
Alright, in cyberspace you can do anything if you code it right~-~
galewinds • 13 Nov 2009, 6:46 PM
Education alert: I checked with a friend of mine. You can gather DNa from a feather. 2500 year old Giant Moa feathers contained DNA and was
galewinds • 13 Nov 2009, 6:47 PM
collected. However the feathers were gathered from caves and rock shelters. Ark has been under water at least once so there should be no
galewinds • 13 Nov 2009, 6:48 PM
usable DNA from any extinct birds.
brendan • 13 Nov 2009, 6:50 PM
We don't know the Calla are extinct they may just be a rare sight meaning if the feather was recently found DNA could be gathered from it.
and they didn't necessarily go extinct before the flood.
daniellep1988 • 13 Nov 2009, 6:55 PM
Donated 300K
