INTRUSIVE ADS RESOLVED - About two weeks ago, we began working with a new ad partner. As it turns out, they were very dishonest about their practices and were the culprit of the many intrusive advertisements that you may have received while browsing Egg Cave over the last two weeks. We have ended our relationship with them immediately and their intrusive advertisements have been removed. At this time, we would like to clarify our position on advertisements. Advertisements are on Egg Cave to support the funding of our web servers, artists, and programmers that produce creatures and new content. In no way do we want for these advertisements to interfere with the experience of our users, nor do we ever want for Ark to be taken over by intrusive, inappropriate advertisements. Under no circumstances should "redirection advertisements" be appearing on Egg Cave — we do not approve ads of these kinds. Should you ever receive one, report it immediately. Ads have their place but they shouldn't take over our community. Egg Cave's community comes first.
In terms of security, we are very confident that your passwords, email addresses, and any personal information stored at Egg Cave were NOT compromised and ARE SAFE. Know that Egg Cave does not store any of your financial data (i.e. credit card numbers) for those of you who are Cash Shop customers. As a basic security precaution, however, we encourage users to update their passwords here: https://eggcave.com/prefs/changepw. Beyond that, no action is necessary. With regards to the actual content (i.e. what you saw) on these various advertisements, you can safely disregard their claims as false. For example, if you saw an advertisement that said "you're infected!" this was a scare tactic. Egg Cave is now free from these intrusive advertisements. Egg Cave is committed to a safe gaming experience for all, including our younger users too. Enjoy and have fun!

INTRUSIVE MOBILE ADS - We've received and have been able to confirm the reports of intrusive mobile ads from Egg Cave that appear to be redirecting users to other spammy links. We're really sorry about this. Rest assured that Egg Cave itself and your data is not "infected" with any sort of virus. We're just trying to find, delete, and remove this collection of extremely pesky advertisers that we did not approve. Desktop and non-mobile browsers seem to be unaffected. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We're working as fast as we can to get rid of these pesky ads.
