Savanna came in my room last night and told me that her Dad had given her permission to get a job. She was so excited and said she will probably work at the Publix in Carrollwood or Walmart near us. It's hard to see her going to work but she really wants to and she will be 17 in November.

J
I'm sure Savanna is excited about looking for a job and having some spending money and time away from all her siblings. It's just hard to see them go to work and know that's the beginning of many, many years of working. I hope she finds something that works for her. She is going to be a senior this year right or is she graduating? When she does graduate, since she is home schooled, does she go to a high school and graduate with them? I'm just curious as I have no idea how all that works with home schooled kids. I know you're proud of all of them that's for sure and you should be.

S
Well I'll have to go for now because Greg and Tiffany are gone and the baby is crying. Have a really wonderful day!!!

Kayla, Savanna and I have been cleaning the pool deck. It took us Friday and Saturday but now it's clean. The girls can't wait to go swimming but first Greg has got to install the new motor and filter. It's been a long time coming but we finally got it will be worth it when it's finally done.

J
That's great that you've almost got the pool back in working order again and I know the kids will really enjoy it for sure. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as well maybe even a quite swim in the evening after the kids have gone to bed. It's fortunate that Greg is so handy with so many things as it's saved you a lot of money.

S
The pool is nice but it requires maintenance and new parts all the time so it is expensive too. In other words, a real money pit but we have it so we have got to get it operational or fill it in. Everything was fine before Mom and Dad passed but now money is tight and things are more expensive so it's harder.

While walking today, Kayla and I saw a white plastic bag in the intersection of Marigold Avenue and Bird Street and it had a dead chicken in it with its head cut off. We knew exactly what it was when we saw it because we've seen others in the same location in the past. Someone around here has ties with Santeria and put it there. A while later, we were talking with our neighbor, Gloria, who is 89 and lives behind us and a large black truck drove up and stopped and a man, woman and a girl was in it. I might add that by that time Savanna was picking the chicken up and putting it in a tub to get it out of the street because the traffic was having to go around it. The girl in the truck told us that some people of different cultures believe differently and put evil spirits on the person who moves the chicken and that she (Savanna) shouldn't touch the chicken or move it and then they drove off. We were in shock and after thinking about it, we are all convinced that they were probably the ones who put it there. Savanna told us she was not afraid and the rest of us weren't either. Have you ever heard of this? Someone around here does this frequently. The first time we called the Sheriff's Office but now we just handle it ourselves.

J
I've never heard of Santeria or cutting heads off chickens and leaving them in the intersection. I wonder what the significance is? I'll have to try and look it up and see what it says but it sounds like it might be a religious cult of some sort. I'd definitely stay away from it, but glad Savanna doesn't feel threatened by what the girl said.

Well, I'm going to get a cup of tea and read some of the book I'm reading, "90 Minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper. I just started it but so far it's really interesting. It's been a long day as it started early by getting up early and cleaning the house before the Bright House Tech came out. Needless to say, it was very messy but that's what you get when you have seven children.

About Kangchroma Eggs

Kangchroma parents paint their hopes and dreams for their offspring on the shells of their eggs creating beautifully painted eggs.

About the Kangchroma Creature

Kangchroma eyes are very sensitive to color, allowing them to distinguish more shades of colors than most creatures. This has allowed the Kangchroma species to develop a written language based entirely on various shades of color, an extremely beautiful language to even those who can't read it. Kangchroma will paint themselves in this language, everything from personal goals, wishes, family history, even poetry. No two Kangchroma have the same body paintings, though sometimes the differences can only be distinguished by other Kangchroma.
