Never uft (the first creature I really wanted, finally have him)

Yamakaze Kensei happened to be a sword.
Not a normal sword, but one of the greatest, oldest swords made. He was forced centuries ago, and many great warriors held him, and wielded him in battle.
Yet, as you know with swords, they can be fickle. Yamakaze Kensei happened to be one particular, annoyingly fickle sword. If he didn't like them, he refused to listen or to help. Many tried to wield him, tried to have him as a sword, but he refused to listen, and to do what they wanted. If they wanted to swing right, he swung a little bit lower, a little bit more to the left, making people miss their mark, and in many cases cause their indirect death, but not being able to kill their opponent in time.

It was one of these reasons, many people stopped stealing him from battlefields, and when one of his last owners, a fierce warrior who fought in many battles, and held a few victories in his name, won his final battle, he stopped using Yamakaze Kensei, and added him to his collection of old swords, to never be used again.
And thus, Yamakaze Kensei retired.

Yamakaze never minded, he liked to hang around, shift shape, and hang around the attic as a sleeping Bunthoff, invisible to the eyes of the humans and blowing smoke rings to enjoy the little critters in the attic, and when he moved to another museum, or another collection, he tagged along.

It was years, and years, and years later, he happened to belong to an old collection of an older, retired guy, who loved swords, weapons, and other historical attributes, some one actually happened to see him.
It was a human girl, teenage years, her hair so short Yamakaze almost thought she was a guy.
She happened to have ask permission to draw and sketch a few of the older weapons in her sketchbook ("just sketch, don't touch").
But when she saw the sword Yamakaze Kensei, she couldn't help herself and unsheathed him, held his handle in her hands, and feel the weight of the sword in her hands. It wasn't that she wanted to wield it, kill and murder with it, she just enjoyed the beauty of the sword, the weight in her hands, and the feeling of slicing him through the air.
"Well, aren't you an unusual one" whispered Yamakaze in her ear, hovering over her from her back, enjoying to be out of his sheath again.
She spun around, and when Yamakaze stared in her face, she stared right back.
They blinked, both of them, and stared speechless into each others faces.
Yamakaze Kensei stared, looked and let the surprise wash through him, before he spoke.
"Well, this
is unusual".
It felt banal, weird, yet he wasn't as surprised as he should be, having a human girl stare at his face, being seen by a human for the first time in his existing.
"That's an understatement" whispered the girl, "who..?"
"Well, my name is Yamakaze Kensei, but you can call me Kaze-kun. I am the sword you're holding".

About Bunthoff Eggs

This creature is endangered.

When carrying Bunthoff eggs home, be careful as to which surfaces the egg touches, because these eggs have a very dirty, chalk-like powder that rubs off. Due to the unique mixture of oils within this powder, it is incredibly difficult to wash the dirt off with soap and water. These eggs are pretty rare too. They are typically found buried in the Egg Cave, so it's best to dig if you want one of these eggs.

About the Bunthoff Creature

Bunthoff live underground near The Volcano. Bunthoff have managed to dig an impressive network of tunnels surrounding The Volcano. Their main colony is adjacent to the main vent of The Volcano. The most horrid Bunthoff disasters in history have occurred when The Volcano has erupted and blown holes in the vent pipeline, which has flooded the Bunthoff colony with molten lava. Over time, Bunthoff have evolved and can sense a volcanic eruption days before it occurs. This is why the Science and Research Center in Ark City monitors Bunthoff colony activity; if they abandon their colony, Ark City needs to be prepared for what is about to come.
