The tendrils surrounding Vanmand eggs actually come from the embryo itself and help to break apart the outer membrane when they are ready to hatch.
Relatives of the Aurelian and Goldur, Vanmands are a non-stinging species living abundantly in Ark's oceans. The Science and Research Center in Ark City find them particularly fascinating because of the fact that the creatures are biologically immortal, being able to revert back to larval stages after injury, sickness, or upon reaching old age. A recent breakthrough has meant that scientists are now able to isolate these regenerative cells, allowing them to create Potion of Rebirth.
