Description:

Locus is a serpentine dragon who draws power from celestial space, his broad wings during the day, are a pale light blue, mottled with streaks of gray and white. Similar to the sky on a day with little clouds. They are a soft membrane material but strong enough to carry on the winds. His body a dark but obvious azure, like an angry sky before a storm, his underbelly a dark ebony. During the night his form takes on an entire difference, his wings and underbelly dance with sky colours from the darkest points on earth, a sea alight with pinpoints of light and streaks of colour, while his finely scaled upper body sits in a dark pewter shade, blending with the night. His eyes are a constant shade of icy white, appearing to see directly into the darkest corners of your mind, whilst his nose is a soft and bright pink. A beacon in the night, as he flies high in the sky, it could almost be mistaken for a red planet shining brightly in the dark sea above surrounded by speckles of white and yellow lights. Bone coloured fine hairs decorate the points of his body, the tip of his tail, under his chin and down his serpentine neck, making him appear ancient and wise, though he does not consider himself so. Lastly, large slender grey antlers sprout from the crown of his head, used in past times for sparring, he seldom finds much use for them besides a tool for scratching his wing folds.

He tries to hold a level head, choosing to see & hear both sides of a story before choosing a side. The bigger picture is whats most important to him, so if he can, he will avoid a fight, believing that violence is the answer to nothing but more harm. He is opposite his Rider, he is not loud, nor mouthy, he would rather keep his thoughts to himself or Wild, but will choose to speak to a few chosen friends.
He calls himself ageless, never giving once indication of his prime. When bothered, a short plume of pale grey smoke will erupt from his jowls.

About Luryuken Eggs

The spiny fins on Luryuken eggs carry a mild toxin that deters predators. After hatching, the coral “horns” on the shell will fall to the seafloor and can become the basis of new coral reefs.

About the Luryuken Creature

For centuries, Luryukens were thought to be a myth dreamt up by sun-addled sailors. It wasn’t until a Luryuken was spotted bringing a floundering ship into Ark Bay after a devastating storm that others began to believe the sailors’ tales. There is a tradition among those who sail the seas to bring an offering for the Luryuken to ensure a safe voyage.

Luryukens predominantly live far from Ark’s shores, out in the deep ocean, where they prefer to keep to themselves. However, a Luryuken will often surface to help ships or shipwrecked sailors find their way back to safety.
