The absolutely abhorrent odor emanating from Peeyu eggs is nearly five times as potent as the scent given off by Pinkunk eggs. Any sensible creature with a sharp sense of smell will stray clear of a Peeyu burrow without hesitation.
The Science and Research Center classifies the Peeyu as the worst-smelling species of the skunk family, and rightfully so, as they are able to produce a repugnant scent that can even deter a fully matured Fangtharp from attacking.
The striped markings, along with a dismal face-like pattern, is a textbook example of aposematism.
