I work full-time as a Biomedical Technician for two hospitals and one surgery center / cancer center. My position is also called a Biomedical Equipment Technician or BMET, and sometimes, Clinical Engineer.

My specialty is troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining IV pumps (infusion pumps). You'll find these pumps in every single hospital room. Beep beep!

I take a lot of pride in the fact that I am the sole pump repairgirl for these three facilities. :,)

I've completed my two weeks of training and have officially begun my work as a Biomedical Technician for two hospitals and one surgery center! Just finished my first week. I troubleshoot and repair broken infusion pumps (IV pumps) and feeding pumps. I also perform calibrations, preventive maintenance, and detail cleaning on the units. I've listed some of the pumps I work with below.

One of my hospitals has around 1,980 pumps, another has over 1,000, and the surgery center has 54.

I love it so far! I love working with my hands, I love electronics (especially medical), and I love fixing them. It's similar to my previous occupations in many ways.

Some of the pumps I work with: Alaris (8015, 8100, 8110, 8120), Baxter Spectrum IQ, Sigma Spectrum, Medfusion (3500, 4000), CADD Solis, Kangaroo and Joey ePump, Infus OR, Perfusor Space, Mridium, and more! Feel free to look them up if you're curious.

*On July 20th, a few days before I was flown out for my two weeks of training, I made an Alaris necklace out of clay and painted it. The middle unit is the 8015, the main computer, and the two units on the sides are the 8100s, the pump modules.

For two years, I was working at a medical electronics manufacturing company as a Test Technician and Functional Tester (for the production of the Medtronic Hugo robotic surgery system) and as a Medical Electronics Assembler (building medical equipment for hospitals and surgery centers).

Recently, a different company reached out to me after seeing my resume online and offered me a Biomedical Technician position, specializing in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing infusion pumps for chemotherapy, medicine, feeding, etc.

I completed two interviews and was presented with an offer. I countered the offer for higher pay due to my experience, work ethic, and skills. They accepted my counter and I have accepted their new offer!

The first week is remote and should be mid-July. Following that week, they are flying me out for two weeks of paid training in a different state that houses their headquarters. When I return from two weeks of training, I will take on my main responsibility of servicing the infusion pumps for two hospitals.

During my first week, the two week trip for training, and the following weeks as I get accustomed to my new position, I am unsure how active I will be on Egg Cave. Just wanted to let anyone know who may be curious. Thank you for reading. :-)

About Twobot Eggs

The Twobot egg isn't really an egg. It's actually a digital device that you have to plug in to hatch successfully! So charge away. It makes a strange whirring noise, though, like that of a coil whine. Perhaps that noise will be fixed in the next version.

About the Twobot Creature

The Twobot, the second-generation of the original Macbot, is the standard in personal assistants. Unlike the earlier Macbot version, the Twobot is extremely affordable that many Arkians can afford. The Twobot can't simulate human emotions or cook for you just yet but it can fetch any piece of data for you, order CaveCash, place online orders, and carry on otherwise entertaining conversations with human beings.

The biggest complaint about the Twobot is battery life. Its battery doesn't seem to last quite as long as people hoped, so be sure to charge it regularly!
