About Chamollusk Eggs

Beachgoers picking up seashells along Ark Bay's sandy shores may be surprised to find that what they grabbed is actually a Chamollusk egg!

About the Chamollusk Creature

A variety of empty shells decorate the backs of Chamollusks to provide camouflage as they lie in wait on the shoreline for unsuspecting prey. These decorative shells are often the leftovers from previous meals and are used as gifts during times of courtship.

Chamollusks are very poor swimmers and rely upon their prehensile tail and feet to anchor themselves against being swept out to sea by the tide.
