About the Frango Creature

The Frango is an edible mushroom that grows in shelves that range from 5 to 25 centimeters wide. The shelves are made up of many tiny tubular filaments. Some of its biggest shelves can grow to weigh over 45 kilograms. This fungus is most commonly found on the wounds of trees, mostly oak, although it can also be found on eucalyptus, yew, chestnut, willow, as well as conifers. Frango species are parasitic and produce brown rot in the host on which they grow.

The mushrooms can be prepared in a similar way that chicken is cooked. It can also be used as a substitute for chicken in a vegetarian diet. Additionally, it can be frozen for long periods of time and retain its edibility. In parts of Ark, it's considered a delicacy.

Eating Frango mushrooms is safe, although some people can have an allergic reaction that causes nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and disorientation.
