In Memory of
Bella the Fluffy Black Cat

February 14, 2006 - April 9, 2024

Bella was one of my family's cats. At 18 years old, Bella's health was rapidly declining. My mom decided to let her walk over the rainbow bridge. Bella had a very, very good life and we will see her again in heaven, where all cats go.

I found Bella outside when I was a kid. I set out dry food to coax her, of course. My parents advised not to do this, as usual, since "we didn't need more cats". The cats we ended up having all "adopted" us; we did not live in a neighborhood, so stray cats were more common, and they always found their way to our house. And I fed them. While we didn't know Bella's birthday, my mom could tell she was young and went back an appropriate amount of months to give her a birthday of Valentine's Day.

I wanted to name her Rhapsody. I found it in this Pet Name Book we had. My mom said it was too long and would sound weird calling her. "Heeere, Rhapsody, Rhapsody, Rhapsody!" she joked. My mom chose to name her Bella. Because she was beautiful. This was fine with me, as I did get to name the last stray cat I fed and we took in: Dodi, a female shorthair tuxedo. I named her that because I was absolutely obsessed with dodo birds at the time (still love).

Bella was very friendly once I started feeding her. She had a large piece of the top of her paw missing, a large wound. I put some Neosporin on it. It healed nicely. Turned out, she was pregnant when she "adopted" us! She had six kittens, five black and one grey.

Here is a small collage, photos by my mom on the left, a few by me on the right, and two kitten photos by my dad.

About Alkub Eggs

Alkub eggs were once thought to be the only ones on Ark that made a sound. If you put your ear up to an Alkub egg and listen very carefully, you can hear the purring sound of the baby Alkub. The sad part is, once the Alkub is hatched, that purring noise is extremely annoying until it's fully matured as an adult.

About the Alkub Creature

Alkub are the most gentle beast in Ark. They are frequently found roaming in the Northern Plains, near the entrance of the Egg Cave. Baby Alkub have a very annoying growling and purring sound, but a fully mature Alkub is a force to be reckoned with.
