About the Name: Daughter of Coatlicue & Mixcoatl. A moon goddess; name means 'Golden Bells'. She and her 400 siblings joined a group wanting to kill Coatlicue because she was pregnant. They attacked her and a group of hummingbird feathers fell on Coatlicue. The fetus sprang from Coatlicue as a fully grown adult (Huitzilopochtli) and he killed the attackers. Coyolxauhqui's head was put into the sky & became the moon.
