Winter cried out. Her hoots were lost in the howling wind. She couldnt lose the rest of... never mind. They were gone. Winter was alone. No more Gidehs around her. Just swirling snow. She let herself be torn apart by the wind. She had nothing to fight for. So she let it pull her.
When she woke up, she was on an island. She'd been tossed aside by the wind. Why had the wind not destroyed her as it should have? Maybe she was meant to live. Maybe Winter was meant to survive!

About the Gideh Creature

Multiple human interaction tests have been done with Gideh and what's remarkable is that, although Gideh can only "hoot", they can apparently understand human speech. For example, if you said, "Go to Ark City" from the Egg Cave, Gideh know exactly which way to travel. Similarly, if you tell Gideh to complete certain tasks in the future, they will always perform them at the exact, specified time. Thus, Gideh are regarded as the most wise owl species on Ark.
