The Story Of How Me & Cota Met...

Well, it all started out when Savanna's parents decided to get another GSD dog. They already had Chief & Kira, but they figured another Shepherd would be nice. so one day online they found a 6 month old female named 'Daisy' & the person did not want her because his dogs were beating her up and she had Horrible problems including Chewing everything, peeing on everything, and not wanting to go by any dogs or people (she was really scared and basically a mess of a dog) and so on July 23rd, 2013, we bought 'Daisy' and welcomed her into our family. and obviously the person didn't care about her because she was missing fur on her ears from being hurt by other dogs. and to be honest, I don’t think they were very nice to her themselves because she was absolutely terrified of humans and because of this, she was deathly afraid of anything that came near her. and because she had her anxiety issues, no one really wanted to train her Or give her the massive amount of time & patience she needed to be ok again. and since I have anxiety issues myself, I felt her pain. I could see why she was so afraid of things and other dogs. and why she chewed things up. After all she was only a baby and her old owners didn't care for her like they should have & should have NEVER let her stay in there with other dogs that were being so mean to her (including not letting her eat or drink. Man I could only imagine what horror she went through). so I took action and showed her how nice a person can be. I took good care of her, I pet her for hours on end and talked to her & I gave her lots of treats when she did good, and I trained her. and soon she stopped going to the bathroom all over the place and stopped chewing things completely! And before long, she followed me EVERYWHERE around the house. and when she get's scared of other dogs (she pretty much only likes Chief) she ran behind me. Which makes me happy because I know she trusts me to take care of her and protect her (she likes people though, she's not scared of people anymore) and she loves me a lot now. and she pretty much only listens to me for some reason. And if I take her out, She won't go unless I go with her because she likes to follow me around. 😊

But after a while, Something changed about Cota. Now if i’m out anywhere near someone else or another dog, She get’s all protective & sits right by me and barks unless I tell her to be quiet. She protects me! I’ve shown her so much love and compassion that she loves me enough to protect me & not want me to be scared either. We do this for each other at all times. 😊

This is a lesson to all of you. If you see something that needs help, but you don’t wanna give it the time & love it needs to be as good as it can be, DO IT! I promise it’s all worth it to have someone trust you more than anything and for something to love you so much. I would never change Cota out for anything in the whole world. So instead of getting a dog that will get another home, try to give one that needs help a chance. I’m not saying it has to be from a shelter (Cota wasn’t from a shelter). There are dogs out there that aren’t in shelters that need help just as bad if not worse. Because once a dog is in a rescue, It’s safe. It’s been rescued and helped. But there are dogs out there that still need your help. I don’t know what/where Cota would be right now if I hadn’t saved her. So try to help a pet in need. I promise it’s all worth it. ❤️

The only exception to dogs/cats that are in shelters are ones in kill shelters. THEY Obviously need help a lot. 😸

About Tific Eggs

This egg was only given out in January of 2012.

As the Tific nears hatching, it has been reported that its eyes can actually be seen observing the surrounding area. Tifics will never hatch if they sense any sort of danger and will remain dormant forever.

About the Tific Creature

The Tific is a very shy creature that will hide from strangers for days at a time, and it takes a large amount of patience and compassion to befriend one. Tifics enjoy simple pleasures and love to play with pieces of loose string or ribbon. Because of this strange obsession, Tifics can often be found to be wrapped in their favorite toys.

Due to its timid nature, one Tific is selected every January and is watched to see if it hatches before February 1st. If it does, the year is considered to be "blessed" and Arkians can expect to enjoy an exciting year. If not, many Arkians believe that they will endure many hardships in the coming months. Although this tradition is widely believed, the Science and Research Center does not acknowledge the validity of this superstition.
