Cornivore seeds look very different than that of natural, organic corn seeds. I wonder why...
Cornivores are a genetically modified organism created by the Science and Research Center in Ark City. Research began to find a freeze-resistant strain of corn a few years back and the Cornivore is the culmination of that research. The Cornivore can indeed withstand freezing temperatures and not die but there was another unexpected side effect from the experimentation: the Cornivore likes to devour other plants (all others except corn). This makes them an incredibly dangerous invasive species.
As a result, Cornivores are grown and kept in strictly-controlled greenhouses; they aren't allowed outside of them. Tours are rarely given of these greenhouses. Rumor has it that, if they were able to escape these facilities, they may be able to destroy all plant life on the island of Ark.
