To each is destined a time and place.
The young boy begs, "If only I were grown!" The old man groans as he whispers, "Ah, to be young again."
The unknown girl wishes on a star, longing for fame and fortune. The famous woman wishes only for a simple, ordinary life.
We're each given a gift, yet we'd give it up for anything else. The dancer wishes she could write; the writer wishes he could act; the actress wishes she could sing; the singer wishes he could dance. An endless circle, all pitying themselves because they were given the short end of the stick.
"Ah, to be someone else," says the man millions adore. What they would all give to be him.
The man with perfect hair wishes for a sharper chin, the girl with perfect eyes would give anything for a smaller nose. The little boy sighs and says, "The grass is greener on the other side," while an endless field of lavender sits before his eyes.
A world run by envy and depression, everyone longing for a life not their own.
Yet if we all traded for the life we wanted, every one of us would still be unhappy.
We've seen our blessings so many times, we forget they're blessings. We take them for granted, even despise them sometimes.
Until they're gone.

For too many years, we wait for destiny to call our name, when it already has.
We've stood so long with our eyes on the floor and our hands in our pockets, we've lost sight of the truth right before our eyes. Look up once in a while, stop dreaming of your fantasy and notice the fantasy you get to live. Smile, laugh until you cry, live the beautiful life you have because you're living somebody's dream!
And someday, when you finally appreciate what you've been given, you'll realize what's right in front of you.
That dream was yours all along.
