The space around the planet Ark is full of oddities. One of these oddities are tiny (relatively) protostar disks. Despite appearances these aren't the beginnings of true stars but rather of a Stellasma.
Once enough stellar dust has been absorbed by the growing Stellasma it emerges, scattering the remaining stellar dust into the void of space. Young Stellasmas are packed full of energy and curiosity and can be spotted zipping through the space of Ark's solar system with moderately sized telescopes. As a Stellasma ages its ventures father and farther out from Ark's solar system needing more space as it grows. For a Stellasma never truly stops growing over its lifespan and while many young and main sequence Stellasmas have been observed there are several astronomers who are searching for the elusive "final form" of the Stellasma, the black hole form.
