This egg looks like a pumpkin seed from the Halloween Fair! But it's definitely not a seed... it's an egg!
Every October, pumpkins left too long in moonlit fields begin to hum. By the first frost, a few have grown curious little kitten bodies, and the Hollowkit tumbles out into the world, still trailing bits of vine.
A Hollowkit's carved face changes with its mood: a grin when playful, wide round eyes when curious, and a scowl when someone steals its sunny spot. Pumpkin vines curl from its neck like a mane and trail behind it as a tail.
The candle glow inside a Hollowkit brightens when it purrs, so a happy one can light up an entire room. Many wonder about what the flame's actual source is, however.
On chilly nights, a Hollowkit curled at the foot of the bed is said to keep away bad dreams, though it may leave a few pumpkin seeds—not redeemable at the Halloween Fair—behind.
