Despite the fact that Grizzard eggs are so colorful, they can be astonishingly hard to find. They have a chameleon-like property of taking on a few colors from their surroundings. This helps them blend in and stay hidden from predators.
Grizzards thrive in the tropical climate of Ark's jungles. They tend to live in the middle canopy level, eating both plants and insects. Just like their eggs, Grizzards can change their colors to better match their surroundings, although with some limits. An unsuspecting person could walk through the jungles and spot only a handful of Grizzards, all the while being surrounded by dozens of them.
