About egg:

Valentina has feathers on the sides, it may look soft, but it is actually razor-sharp. The feathers protect the egg from predators. The feathers also help Valentina stay in place, since the eggs are very round.

About Valentina:

The red stripe on Valentina's paw is used to help Valentina sense vibrations through the ground so they can flee before the enemy is even in sight. The feathers on its back act like weapons, protecting it from predators.
