I've never bought a star potion. All mine have come from the cave. It will evolve and level up your creature faster, but that's not something I was willing to spend my limited CC on.

Also, while rare, you can find star creatures in the Cave. The star will show after you've chosen an egg, on the page where you can name and keep the creature.

Star creatures gain "bonus" stats every day towards their evolution. Today mine got 2, but a couple of days ago it was 11.

I'm actually not sure how the community here would feel about selling tokens between players. I'd support it! But when it comes to events I'm still learning myself. In another game I played it would definitely be a no-no, maybe I just assumed it'd be similar here.
