Hi There! This is LuckyanSelous & This is a dedication for my 2 Lovebirds, Lucky & Selous (pronounced Sa-LEE-ous)

About Lucky

Lucky is a cross between a slate mask male & a rosy cheek peachface female lovebird, which are 2 different species of lovebirds. He's a very rare hybrid lovebird & He's the son of PeachyanCheeky In real life before they passed. 😸

I named him Lucky because at the time that he was laid, I didn't know that in the summer time (when it's over 90 degress everyday in FL) if you leave the eggs & parents outside then the eggs will overheat in shell & the chicks will die in thier shells if you don't bring the birds inside. Well I found this out 2 weeks after they were laid & I brought them inside, so none of the others hatched except him. he was the only one out of 6 eggs to hatch. At least he lived though. 😊

Funny thing was, I had given the eggs an extra week to hatch & finally decided that none were and was literally checking on the eggs this last time to throw them away. Honest. And I opened it up & found Lucky! So I named him lucky because he was lucky to have hatched + lucky to have hatched then because I would've thrown him out and never would've known that one was alive. SUPER glad I didn't throw him out!

I then gave the eggs another week + candled them to make sure there were no others. 😊

About Selous

Selous (I pronounce it Sa-LEE-ous just because I like it better than Selous) is a female hybrid lovebird. She's a mix between a Normal Colored Fischer Lovebird Female & a White Mask lovebird Male instead of normal Mask x Peachface kind like Lucky. I got Selous from a breeder who just so happened to breed rare hybrids too! So I figured it was a sign & I got her and they immediately went head over heels for eachother and they've been mates ever since. 😊

And I named her Selous because she's part Fischer lovebird, and that breed/species of Lovebird comes from Tanzania, & there's a game reserve there called the Selous reserve. so that's why I named her Selous!

ALSO - Just like Peachy & Cheeky, the breeder told me Lucky was a girl and Selous was a boy. as they grew up I knew this was wrong. 😉

They laid their first clutch of eggs around July 21st, 2015. But as of yet none of them have hatched. I'm seeing wether or not hybrids are infertile (as people try to say they are but I've never seen any documented proof on such a thing) So Lucky & Selous are gonna prove wether or not this is true.
A NOTE FROM THE FUTURE! - On June 14th, 2016 I write this, They've laid 3 clutches of eggs and none ever hatched, So I conclude that hybrid lovebirds ARE infertile. OR Maybe it's because both parents are hybrids AND are different kinds of hybrids...

I got her at 3 months old on Feb/10/14 I don't know her exact B-day though because I didn't breed her myself.

About Sikeree Eggs

This egg was only available in Egg Cave's Cash Shop Park for Valentine's Day 2015.

The Sikeree is the first creature ever discovered in Ark that begins life as a conjoined egg. The conjoined egg houses two individual creatures.

About the Sikeree Creature

The Sikeree creature represents an ancient legend of love between two birds named Sik and Ree.

* * *

Long ago, there were two birds born to separate parents just minutes apart, Sik and Ree. From the outset, Sik and Ree were inseparable and knew that they loved one another without reservation. Sadly, in an unexpected event Sik's father died. At that same time, Ree's mother passed away.

Undone and robbed by grief, their love fell apart as they had no energy to give to one another. In their pain, they flew away from each other, each in opposite directions for miles and miles.

Now hundreds of miles apart, Sik began to think of Ree and Ree of Sik. To find one another again, they both flew back to the same spot from which they departed but they had missed each other for they arrived and departed at different times.

After 10 long years of yearning and searching for one another, Sik and Ree found each other perched across the opening of The Volcano at about the time they were both going to give up. Reunited, they rekindled their love with new perspective on their loss as younger birds.

The Legend of Sik and Ree teaches that no amount of pain or distance can sever or alter the tie of true love.
