Contrary to the appearance of their spiky exterior, the wooden splinters protruding from Igsoro eggs are smooth, having been slowly dulled by the waves washing over them.
Unlike Kupela, which hatch inside of wooden ships barrels, Igsoros are born in the murky waters beneath the loading docks of Ark Bay. Once hatched, Igsoros will instinctively board ships in search of worn-down wooden chests and footlockers to fill with various scavenged goodies (like drift wood, sea glass, shells, coins, etc.). It is quite impossible to secretly sneak even a quick peek at the valuables contained inside a young Igsoro's treasure trove; the many peg-legged sailors seen strolling about the loading docks of Ark Bay can attest to that!
Though once sought by pirate crews for the bragging rights of owning such a rugged and like-minded creature, Igsoros have become a subject of loathing by even the most weathered and reckless ships' captains. This is due to the Igsoro's refusal to share their accrued goodies with even exceptionally thoughtful and generous keepers. If pressured to reveal their cache of riches, an Igsoro will simply lock itself inside or worse, flee with all of a ship's booty! As a result, even foolhardy novices know better than to risk the wrath of a spiteful captain by bringing one aboard.
Consequently, numerous merchants nowadays tend to keep at least one Igsoro as a pet when sailing through the treacherous waters patrolled by Ark's most-wanted (and feared) pirate factions as a means of thwarting potential attacks. Similarly, many other personal and recreational vessels will display an Igsoro seal as a warning. All those who spot the seal will understand that a wily, opportunistic Igsoro is aboard somewhere and simply waiting for fresh riches to find.
As an added stroke of luck, Igsoros also help keep the bothersome Kupela population at bay... by eating them of course.
