Ping?

What does it meant to ping someone? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm new, so will probably be asking a few more. I didn't see a way to search the Help. Thanks!

It's like Facebook.
You're basically tagging them in the message.

Basically just mentioning/notifying someone in a post you've posted just by putting the @ sign in front of it.

Pinging users alert the users by a notification. See, I just pinged you! To ping, you type an '@' symbol then the username you want to notify. Only works on the Forums.

Example:
@Whitefall

To Ping me, just put:

@ spenser_dog_123

But without the space between the @ and spenser_dog_123!

So it looks like this:

@spenser_dog_123
