@iridescent Actually, there's been recent cases of members receiving up to four eggs at once. ;D

It's not uncommon; my guess is that it's a glitch. I don't believe there's a specific rule against it because it was likely not intended for members to be able to take multiple eggs from the cave. On the other hand, twins might be just something extra added for fun. If it is a glitch, I wouldn't be surprised if using glitches to your advantages was against the rules. I wouldn't worry, though. :]
