Anyone with lip piercing experience?

I got my lip pierced a few days ago. All fine an dandy.


But, my issue is the swelling.

I have two options, find a way to get the swelling down so the back of the stud doesn't grow over, as it's trying to do

Or get a longer piece at the store that will hurt like a //insert word// and be harder to eat

Shall give me advice on how to reduce piercing swelling, that goes along with cleaning it

Well, I have no piercings except my ears, but a lot of my friends get lip piercings 😊

Well, they take a month-two monthsish to completly heal and be normal. I just texted my friend and she said to prevent infection...
-Wash your hands a lot or whenever you are going to touch your piercing
-Use the saline soak stuff like twice a day
-Get a new SOFT BRISTLED toothbrush
-After you eat use mouthwash/brush your teeth
-Ibuprofen will help the swelling and pain go down
-Eat cold foods like frozen yogurt, ice cream, or suck on chipped or crushed ice, or very small ice blocks for the first 2 weeks. Cold foods help heal, reduce pain and reduce swelling
-Don't swim until the piercing healed
-DON'T remove/replace the piercing unless absolutely necessary!!! The hole closes quickly and it hurts to reinsert. If you have to get it out, go to your piercer to do this.

Some of that sounds like common knowledge XD
Like the soft toothed brush [I have a sonicare, no dang way that's gonna go over easily]
And the professional piercing changing the stud - That's what I meant by getting a bigger one.

As for cold stuff, wayyy ahead of you.

Have a can of soda pressed against my lip [Not the piercing itself, the lip]. Seems we have an ice shortage. Bad to my red neck ways.

I prefer online, don't feel bad xD I'm socially awkward unless I'm with animals, in a book store, with kids, basically nothing where you make friends.

but that's my choice. I could call up some old friends from a while back and go "YO DAWG, WANNA HANG?"
