Hashes are an invention of twitter, and they are slowly taking over the internet. Be very afraid. Kidding of course, they're actually pretty useful. Hash tags are essentially online groups; they tie separate posts in separate threads together. For example, at the moment Ian is requesting that people with creature ideas use the tag #creaturesuggestion. That way, he is able to quickly and efficiently sort through all the ideas collected in one place via the hash tag, which makes his life a lot easier. There are tons of other things you can use hashes for though, like signatures, tag lines, certain topics, etc. I know they seem a bit confusing at first, but you'll figure them out soon enough. 😊

See! hash tags can reduce a long plookle ramble to a concise, single phrase. That's how powerful they are.
