"Whee!" I slide down the curtail drawstrings of the human house. Of course, I'd get rope burn, but I have my father's gloves on, so they don't hurt me. I hit the windowsill running. I can hear the human boy's footsteps through the hall. He doesn't have to stomp. I scowl. I slip out of a crack in the window, just before the boy enters his room. I jump over the ledge, quick enough so that he doesn't see me, and he closes the window. I open my backpack, seeing the salt. Most of it is still there. I smile. Perfect.
