oranberry100 • 8 January 2012 at 1:11 PM
o.o FIfTH???? That's tricky
whitefall • 8 January 2012 at 1:13 PM
Basically, they're saying you don't have a quarter. Okay. There us no greatest amount then
cqpkytty • 8 January 2012 at 1:14 PM
@pebblestar-nightclanThere is no greatest amount.
Deleted • 8 January 2012 at 1:14 PM
24 cents??
hayz • 8 January 2012 at 1:14 PM
If you have 3 quarters, 4 dimes, and 4 pennies, you have $1.19. You also have the largest amount of money in coins without being able to make change for a dollar. ^? o3o
lily- • 8 January 2012 at 1:16 PM
@pebblestar-nightclanI like maths and would like to help, but I don't know American money properly, so Good luck😊
pebblestar-nightclan • 8 January 2012 at 1:16 PM
@oranberry100Yeah, it is... It's due in two days, and I can't figure it out TOT@whitefallI tried it before, but it wasn't right... It actually is somewhere around $1.00... I tried 24c last time, but that wasn't it XD@cqpkyttyOnly, there has to be something... Because if I know my teacher right, then this is supposed to be tricky like it is... *sigh*@lily-Thanks ^^
meixiaotian • 8 January 2012 at 1:16 PM
99 cents?
cqpkytty • 8 January 2012 at 1:17 PM
@hayzBUT you could also have a 100-dollar bill. That can't make change for one dollar!
pebblestar-nightclan • 8 January 2012 at 1:17 PM
@meixiaotianIt might be... Only I do think that it's in the 1.00 area... I'm just confused :S@hayzYeah, that might be it... I'll try it, probably 😸
pegasasu • 8 January 2012 at 1:17 PM
Is this all the information you were given?"What is the greatest amount of money you could give as a tip if you couldn't make change for a quarter or a dollar?"@pebblestar-nightclan
pebblestar-nightclan • 8 January 2012 at 1:18 PM
@pegasasuYes, that is all the info I have...
whitefall • 8 January 2012 at 1:19 PM
We are all over thinking it xD
Deleted • 8 January 2012 at 1:20 PM
Hayz is correct actually .A. It's asking you what coins make up a dollar but if someone asks you for change for exactly one dollar, it doesn't add up. 3 quarters, 4 dimes and 4 pennies is correct. It is added up to 1.19 but there is no combination for 1.00.-------I think me and hayz did it during class .-.
cqpkytty • 8 January 2012 at 1:21 PM
@pebblestar-nightclanI mean, it goes on to infinity. A hundred-dollar bill can't make change for a quarter or a dollar. Neither could a million dollars in thousands. Etc.

How is this fifth grade? O.OWouldn't you need percentages in the first place?
pegasasu • 8 January 2012 at 1:23 PM
@belilas_25 @hayzBut you can make change for $1.19, you'd get one dollar bill one dime a nickel and four pennies, that is making change for a dollar isn't it? OwO
Deleted • 8 January 2012 at 1:28 PM
@pegasasu I have no idea, this question might be asking about the combination or its about something else. :C i saw this question in a textbook but... The teacher never went over it. >~> she said it was too confusing.
