I want to be good at drawing. But whenever I try, I lose patience or my drawings look like doodles, even though they took a while in my standards. Sometimes my art is pretty, but I'm not good at art so it's rare.Could someone give me tips? c:I wanna draw like... really good xD

I use the little circle thingies. =3 You know, I sketch ovals for the head, body, arms, legs, ect. Then I use it to base my drawing. xDAlso, the more I draw the better I get. Usually, I like to have something visual to look at to help me. ^^ It's easier to draw things when I can see them. 😊

Aw, don't worry. I used to suck at drawing cats, cause that's what I was into drawing at the time, and the always had oversize heads. XD But now, I've made travel and creature ideas for Egg Cave, (I just have to download them), so my advice is, try to look at real life examples.😊 It's helped me last year, cause on my own, a fox would look terrible if I decided to draw it, but when I looked at a photo, the piece actually came out looking really well.😊 It takes time, don't worry. You'll get the hang of it if you keep trying 😉

Well, each person does have their own preference 😋But that doesn't help ^^"Watch for shading, texture, and all the sorts of details that make up the entire picture :] That's what I tend to try to do...And doing a light sketch like the way ludybugheart suggested helps 😃And practice each day. Even if it's only for a little bit or just on a scrap of paper~

@whitefall Bet you've heard this one before, practice makes perfect. I use to not be very good at drawing. But I kept doing it, even when i thought it was awful. Now i have a art page on Deviant. 😊It also helps to look at a picture of what it is you want to draw. Also tracing works when your first starting out to get use to drawing that thing. Also if you lose patience, just draw a little every day until you finish your drawing or what ever it is your making. Dont try to push/rush yourself. Everyone has those days where their work is amazing and days where they cant even draw a stick figure. Best of luck with your art work! If you ever need tips feel free to ask!!

For me when drawing. I like to use other images for examples and I pay attention to close details. Though mine may not turn out as good as the original I work my way up in adding my own details and designs. I also shade a lot in most of my original drawings. I used to get stubborn because of howid have to erase consistently, but I've gotten used to lightly sketching out my designs that way I can outline them when I've finished. When I base my drawings off of animals I use the basic steps to creating them, such as circles for heads, limbs, paws, and the body and snout, I then work my way up on drawing them.I also look at pictures for poses I can use for my images. Not sure if that is of any help but, really is all I can give.I'm completely brain-dead today.Nothing is making sense to me today.x____x

@whitefall,I find that looking at other peoples' drawings or real-life examples of what you want to draw can be helpful, because it gives you inspiration, as well as showing you what you want to draw and how you want to draw it. I remember an art teacher once told me that 90% of a drawing is looking at what you want to draw and the other 10% is the actual drawing.Sorry if that's not very helpful, but a lot of being able to draw well is just staring at what you want to draw. Then it becomes easier to put it onto paper.
