@bettafish left because a lot of us Eggcavers were being so mean to her about her creature. Next time a newbie wins a rare creature, let's just congratulate them, let them do what they want with it, and move on with our lives! âšī¸

@balletninja Some of the Eggcavers (not naming names) were being so rude to her that she quit. It wasn't you, though, I saw you in her Macbot forum and you weren't being mean, just other people were D:

@avelaingia Yeah, some were being unkind. But no one ever made her quit. They needed our help, and I am sure once this drama cleared up betta would have had a great time. But she left. Her choice. I understand though!@rawrcookies08 Yup, but we still never physically made her leave.

@avelaingiaExactly.Most of this site is the good edge - about 99% of it...but as you said, "We just need to all grow up a bit and think before we speak."That is the one thing on the bad edge. That is the one thing that sometimes drives users away.Users leave for other reasons...but @bettafish wouldn't have left if we had all thought for a moment. She had been driven away by the second edge.

She left because she didn't want to deal with the garbage people were throwing at her. No, no one made her leave. She made her own choice. But the hostile attitudes of other users were the cause of it. That's something those users should be ashamed of. Instead of trying to rationalize their ridiculous behavior, they should accept that they were being childish and abrasive and that it was their actions that drove her to leave.This is not the kind of treatment new users should receive. Whether or not it was her choice to leave, the attitudes and behavior of many of our users is inexcusable.

I might even consider leaving for a little while, but I won't be able to I'm too addicted to this site xD Seriously though, I'm only 12 and the people who are older than me are being worse.

people just got so exited because omg theres a macbot UFT I WANT IT but then they all just forget about being nice and about what is really inportant Deanna who died of cancer not the macbot. we all need to grow up here and stop being so mean it can cause people to kill themselves u really need to think before u say things i mean people have killed themselves over less things than this âšī¸

@chloekins - how much I know the last part is true. Sometimes I hate the forums just because of that, and I know Ian's doing his best to enforce the rules, but there are sometimes so many people to keep track of!I think I liked the older version of eggcave and wish that we could switch back and forth between them, it was WAYY easier to feed creatures when the links for lists weren't at the bottom of the page XD

It's rather worrying that people aren't unnerved by what happened tonight. I agree with @avelaingia; too many users are simply saying "it isn't my fault/problem" or "we can't change what happened; oh well" and don't seem to be bothered by the fact that a potentially dedicated user was driven away by childish and selfish behavior.
